Simultaneous Ringing

Definition

A feature that alerts multiple endpoints or employees simultaneously about one incoming call.

How it works

Multiple endpoints are alerted for the same call; when one party answers, ringing on the other devices is cancelled. Call handling rules determine the order of destinations, ringing time and fallback behaviour. The exact result depends on PBX configuration and whether endpoints are reachable.

Business example

A call to a shared number rings both a desk phone and an assigned employee's mobile app at once.

What to consider

Test busy, no-answer and simultaneous-call cases. Assign responsibility for maintaining routing rules and provide a clear next step when the preferred destination is unavailable.
