eSIM

Definition

A digital mobile-operator profile installed on an eSIM-capable device.

How it works

An eSIM profile is provisioned on a compatible device; moving it may require reactivation with the carrier. Business mobility combines calling apps, phone numbers, devices and access policies. Availability depends on the mobile carrier, network and device configuration.

Business example

An employee activates a corporate mobile plan without inserting a physical SIM card.

What to consider

Review corporate-data security, off-site connectivity, operating-system restrictions and roaming or data charges before rolling out the feature.
