Dynamic Call Tracking

Definition

Dynamic call tracking attributes telephone enquiries to website sessions by showing different tracking numbers to different visitors.

How it works

A script assigns an available number from a pool and links it to a traffic source, campaign tag or advertising click. Incoming calls are then matched to the session.

Business example

A business measures which online advertising campaigns generated calls even when visitors never submitted an online form.

What to consider

The pool must be sized for simultaneous visitors. Ad blockers, missed session matches and calls made much later can reduce attribution accuracy.
