Calling Line Identification Presentation (CLIP)

Definition

A service that presents the calling party's number to the called party.

How it works

Caller-ID presentation works when the network supplies the identity and the called endpoint is allowed to display it. Telephone numbering depends on national rules, carrier capabilities and the selected calling route. Customers benefit from consistent dialling formats and reliable number reachability.

Business example

An employee sees the calling number on a phone display when its presentation is allowed.

What to consider

Before deployment, verify geographical availability, permitted number formats, tariffs, caller-ID restrictions and both inbound and outbound calling behaviour.
